AU Kotori from Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal

Kotori is about 20 years of age, and currently travelling through a country other than her own, in her home 'world' of Pokemon. She'd just finished meeting with another of Alit and Gilag's friends from the 'world without pokemon', Misael--and was travelling to the first real city of the country when she wound up... Elsewhere.

Kotori is natively born in Castellia City, her parents running a well known cafe which the pokemon meloetta once danced in. She used to try and sing to her the song that the pokemon played--and after succeeding, and unintentionally triggering the pokemon's shift into her 'Pirouette forme'. After this, the two became very close, dancing and training together, and eventually travelling Unova as well.

These travels led her to meet the trainer Astral, and as a result, many others--she became involved in things that moved beyond the world itself, even catching the pokemon Kyurem in the process. Eventually, for the sake of Astral, she, Kaito, and Shark would travel through a portal to an alternate world where pokemon didn't exist; after helping Astral to defeat Faker, they would remain there for some time. This is how they came to meet Rei Shingetsu, as well as Gilag, Alit, and others. It only took a few incidents with 'Barian possessed' folk to convince them to hasten a way back however, and eventually they did just that. Spotting Alit attempting to follow with Gilag would prompt her to convince the others to let them come along--to she and the others after all, they'd always been from the world they got stuck in. There was nothing to say they were suspicious, really...

Once there, the number of them would split into travelling parties after finding themselves in an entirely separate country. It was decided that, despite Gilag's protests, someone familiar with pokemon would have to go with them. Thus, Kotori would go with Gilag and Alit, Kaito and Haruto would leave on their own trek, with Rio, Shark, Astral, and Rei going in roughly the same direction (though for the most part travelling in pairs.)

As such, when Misael inevitably appeared, she'd have the fortune in meeting another of Alit and Gilag's 'friends'--and while Misael wasn't particularly pleased with the two (no wonder you can't get anything done, you're being watched!), he eventually warmed up to her.

That's what happens when the events of the series transpire over months rather than days.

She's very strong--even before trading dance and fighting tips between herself and Alit, constantly dancing with Meloetta made this impossible to avoid. Travelling constantly helps too though. Her pokemon however are the greater strength; it was Gilag's folly in picking her and Cathy as 'possession targets' which emphasized this, as he'd find himself on the end of White Kyurem's Ice Burn. (Needless to say, casual trainer or not, she's not to be messed with.)

While in Heartland, she purchased a number of outfits, which she brought back to the pokemon world. She was also the one who found jobs for everyone, and a home they could stay in until they left (Ironically the old Tsukumo house.).
